From the point of view of syntactic functions, action verbs are those that define a subject and possibly one or more objects.
2.What are action verbs in English?
The main action and movement verbs to know

to be late (was/were) = to be present.
to carry = porter.
to catch (caught) = attraper.
to climb = escalader.
to come (came) = venir.
to end = terminer.
to escape = s'échapper.
to fly (flew) = voler.

When a person performs an action, this verb is called an action verb. When a person does not perform an action, this verb is called a state verb.
