The main action and movement verbs you need to know
to be late (was/were) = to be present.
to carry = to carry.

to end = to end.
to escape = to escape.
to fly (flew) = to fly.
When a person performs an action, that verb is called an action verb. When a person is not performing an action, that verb is called a state verb.
