Are you fascinated by Italy and want to master—or simply try your hand at—this melodious language par excellence? Depending on your level, you can take a series of courses that will help you become fluent in everyday conversation.

The course is held in evening classes, at a rate of 1.5 hours per week. Whether you are a a beginner or experienced, and whatever your goals may be, feel free to join us.

Beginner (Level A1–A2)

Target Audience and Prerequisites

Beginner: no knowledge of the language or very limited knowledge, requiring a refresher on the basics of Italian.
The learner can speak and understand the language only to a very limited extent, if at all. They can understand the language in basic everyday situations if the speaker speaks slowly and clearly. They can understand and use simple expressions.

Duration of training

45 hours.

Listening and Speaking

  • Introducing yourself/introducing others
  • Greet/Say goodbye/Welcome
  • Gathering basic information, talking about yourself
  • Describe people, objects, and places
  • Expressing one's tastes and preferences
  • Expressing a state or a feeling
  • Locate, thank
  • Talking about one's schedule

Written expression

  • Fill out a simple form and write a memo
  • Telling a story
  • Writing a simple letter

Reading Comprehension

  • Understand basic instructions or simple information

Monitoring and Evaluation

A placement assessment, as well as formative and final assessments, are conducted to evaluate learners’ knowledge and skills throughout the training program.

Intermediate (Level A1–A2)

Target Audience and Prerequisites

Level A1. The learner can communicate and make themselves understood using simple messages in certain everyday contexts. They develop skills in written expression (grammar, vocabulary) and oral expression. They can speak the language in a way that is understandable, coherent, and confident on familiar topics related to everyday life.

Duration of training

45 hours.

  • How to Write a Simple Invitation Letter
  • Fill out a calendar
  • Writing simple messages
  • Create short surveys or interviews
  • Complete practice exercises

Reading Comprehension

  • Read a menu, a bill, or an instruction manual
  • Read simple professional documents and materials

Advanced (Level B1–B2)

Target Audience and Prerequisites

You can communicate and make yourself understood using simple messages in certain everyday situations. You have already developed strong skills in grammar, vocabulary, and speaking. You can speak the language in a way that is understandable, coherent, and confident when discussing familiar topics from everyday life.

Duration of training

45 hours.

  • Describing events and actions
  • Referring to people or objects
  • Describe and define
  • File a claim/make a complaint
  • Make suggestions

Written expression

  • Write an email or a memo
  • Classified ads in the newspaper: place a simple ad, respond to an ad

  • Fill out a form

Reading Comprehension

  • Understand notes, reports, or articles on a familiar or professional topic
  • Understand the main points of correspondence and factual texts related to one’s field of work

Advanced (Level C1–C2)

Target Audience and Prerequisites

This module is a natural progression from the B1-B2 level module.

Listening and Speaking

  • Dealing with complex issues and understanding jokes or cultural references
  • Provide advice on a specific topic or give work instructions
  • Address complex or sensitive issues with tact

Written expression

  • Write in an appropriate style on any topic
  • Take detailed notes during meetings and summarize them

Reading Comprehension

  • Read and quickly understand reports and related texts on a variety of topics
