The Crown is a British-American television series created by Peter Morgan, produced by Stephen Daldry, and has been streaming on Netflix since November 4, 2016.

Based on Peter Morgan’s 2006 film *The Queen* and his 2013 play *The Audience*, *The Crown* is set to span 60 episodes across six seasons, with 10 one-hour episodes per season, covering the life of Queen Elizabeth II from her early years through her reign, with new actors cast every two seasons.
In January 2020, Morgan announced that the series would ultimately consist of only five seasons, but he eventually reversed his decision in July of that same year.

Claire Foy portrays the Queen in the first two seasons, alongside Matt Smith as Prince Philip and Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret, the Queen’s sister.
For the third and fourth seasons, Olivia Colman takes over the role of the Queen, Tobias Menzies plays Philip, and Helena Bonham Carter plays Margaret.
And finally, for seasons five and six, Imelda Staunton takes over the role of the Queen, Lesley Manville plays Margaret, and Jonathan Pryce plays Philip.
The series is filmed partly at Elstree Studios, with additional locations in the United Kingdom and around the world.

The first season covers the period from Princess Elizabeth’s wedding in 1947 to her sister Princess Margaret’s breakup with Group Captain Peter Townsend in 1955.
The second season covers the period from the Suez Crisis in 1956 through Prime Minister Harold Macmillan’s resignation in 1963 to the birth of Prince Edward in 1964.
The third season picks up in 1964, covering Prime Minister Harold Wilson’s two terms in office through 1976.
The fourth season continues in 1977, covering Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s two terms in office through 1990, including the marriage of Prince Charles and Diana Spencer in 1981.

The first season premiered on Netflix on November 4, 2016, and the second on December 8, 2017.
The series has been renewed for a third and fourth season. The third season premiered on November 17, 2019, and the fourth on November 15, 2020.

The Crown has been acclaimed for the quality of its acting, direction, writing, and cinematography, as well as for the historical accuracy of its portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Downton Abbey is a British television series created by Julian Fellowes and co-produced by Carnival Films and Masterpiece. It consists of 52 episodes, each averaging 50 minutes in length, spread across six seasons.
It aired from September 26, 2010, to December 25, 2015, on ITV1 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as in Canada on VisionTV, and subsequently in Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Quebec.
Downton Abbey is a historical drama series (a period drama) depicting the life of a British aristocratic household in the 1910s and 1920s, giving equal attention to both the aristocrats and the servants who work for them.
Over the course of the seasons, the series incorporates numerous elements borrowed from the soap opera genre.

Downton Abbey was a huge hit with audiences and critics in the United Kingdom and, somewhat unexpectedly, in the United States and the rest of the world. Critics, who were enthusiastic about the first two seasons, felt that the series sometimes struggled to maintain its initial quality, particularly in seasons 3 and 4.
Praised for its ability to build on the tradition of the historical television drama genre while also refreshing it, Downton Abbey has also drawn criticism for its portrayal of the British aristocracy, which is seen as nostalgic and idealized.
The series has won numerous awards (for overall quality, acting, screenplay, costumes, and music). Having achieved cult status in the United States, Downton Abbey has spawned an unusual number of merchandise items for a British television series.
It marked an important moment in the revival of the historical television series genre in the early 2010s.

Doctor Who is a British science fiction television series created by Sydney Newman and Donald Wilson and broadcast on BBC One since November 23, 1963.
It chronicles the adventures of the Doctor, who travels through space and time aboard a space-time vessel that looks like a British police telephone box, the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space, also translated into French as “Temps à relativité dimensionnelle inter-spatiale”).
When the Doctor is mortally wounded, he can survive by regenerating; he then changes his appearance and, to some extent, his personality, while retaining the memories of his previous lives.

"Doctor Who" is historically the longest-running science fiction series of all time,¹², with 685 26-minute episodes (including 253 in black and white), 15 45-minute episodes, one 90-minute episode, and 144 more since its 2005 revival.
The series thus has 846 episodes and is still in production.

In 1989, after 26 seasons, the BBC decided to cancel the series.
Hoping to revive it, the network produced a TV movie with FOX in 1996, which was not very successful, effectively ending the project.
In 2003, the BBC announced that a second version of the series would be produced by Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner, with Davies as the lead writer.
Christopher Eccleston was announced as the new actor playing the lead character.
Airing since 2005, the second series currently spans thirteen seasons and is broadcast in many countries, including France and Canada.

In France, the series is broadcast under the title *Doctor Who*3.
Initially, it was scheduled to air on the show *Temps X*.
It was ultimately broadcast on *Club Dorothée*, starting March 12, 19894, at 9 a.m. on TF1.
The show began airing the series with the adventures of the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker).
The second series, meanwhile, began airing on November 5, 2005, on France 4.
It has been airing on SYFY since May 19, 2019.
In Canada, it has been airing since April 4, 2005, on the CBC network, and starting with the fifth season in 2009 on Space.
In Quebec, it has been airing since January 3, 2006, on Ztélé under the title Doctor Who, and is available on ICI TOU.TV under the title Docteur Who.
