Nour K and Brayan Y
A long time ago
The endings are ais, ais, ait, ions, iez, ont.Sa ne change pas.
The imperfect tense is used to express a past action, which is presented as unfinished or habitual.
To conjugate a verb in the imperfect tense, we use the endings: -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez and -aient: -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez and -aient.
In the imperfect tense, the radical of avoir is av- (I had); that of être is ét- (I was).
The imparfait de l'indicatif (or imperfect indicative) is a simple tense which is part of the indicative mode.
It is often used to situate in the past.
The endings are the same for all verbs except impersonal ones!
Using the imperfect tense
The imperfect indicative is a past tense. Traditionally, it is used to indicate an action in the past that has lasted in time and may still be going on.
It is the ideal tense for describing landscapes or expressing habits in the past.Imperfect tense 😉
