Gender equality

Equality between girls and boys means being united and not discriminating against each other.

Equality between girls and boys is a fundamental principle of the school system. The French Education Code states that the values of equality must be taught from elementary school onwards.
Stereotypes are assimilated from an early age.

Girls and boys conform to what is expected of them according to their gender. For example, science subjects are still seen as the preserve of boys.
Girls are over-represented in general secondary education, although they are abandoning
science subjects, and are under-represented in vocational education.

Today, nothing should prevent a girl or a boy from doing the job they want to do, dressing the way they want to, playing the sport they want to...

Can boys and girls do the same things?

They can't play soccer. Why can't they play soccer? Well, they never play soccer! Well, what about that?

What do you need to play soccer? Legs and arms for touching and goalkeeping. They've got all that, don't they?
There's nothing to stop them playing soccer, but if you tell them they can't play, they won't want to!

We mustn't discriminate between boys and girls, because we're all the same, so that the world can be united. Girls can do boys' activities and boys can do girls' activities, and nothing can stop us from doing so, thanks to equality between boys and girls.
